Automatically rendered wiring diagrams and technical documentation

A simplified illustration demonstrates how ActiveSchematics transforms raw netlist data on the left into a precise and accurate diagram on the right. The visual effectively highlights the smooth conversion from complex data into an easy-to-understand schematic.

ActiveSchematics renders non-graphical wiring data into a vehicle-specific visual wiring diagram automatically within a few seconds. You can integrate the tool entirely into tool suites for engineering, service documentation, and diagnostics. This makes the creation and maintenance of vehicle documentation easier, faster, and less error prone.

Various integration options

You can integrate ActiveSchematics seamlessly into the diagnostic application, for example in the pinpoint testing procedure. In the case of multiple trouble codes, it shows the common sections of their wiring diagrams.

It can also be integrated with a measuring device. Here, the diagram shows where to place the measuring probes on the circuit. The measured value is displayed next to the nominal value directly in the wiring diagram. This gives technicians an additional visual cue in his fault-finding procedure.

A text manual and a resulting graph are displayed.

Full flexibility with automated renderings

Manually created diagrams have many drawbacks. With only a single view, limited web-friendliness, and difficulties to add information, they lack the flexibility to keep up with today’s digital requirements.

ActiveSchematics gives you full flexibility for all your use cases. The source data is taken from the design process and rendered on the spot according to your individual requirements, providing visible related information for highest usability.

ActiveSchematics improves the life of workshop technicians

ActiveSchematics can be used flexibly in various use cases, for example for the integration into diagnostics solutions used by workshop technicians. See how they benefit from a diagnostics process thanks to ActiveSchematics step by step.

First, service technicians identify the vehicle they are working on by scanning the VIN barcode. If it is already connected to the car with a diagnostic tester, the identification is shown automatically.

Now, the technicians select the systems of the car they are interested in. These sections will be rendered automatically. If the automatic rendering solution is integrated with the diagnostic trouble code application, the system renders the schematics of the stored trouble codes.

The presented schematics rendered by the tool matches the vehicle exactly including all features and installed options. The information is presented in the technicians’ native language.

Once all the required information on the specific vehicle is available, the technicians only need one mouse click to gain access to additional information such as connector end views, a component locator, state voltages, signals, or wave forms for diagnostics – all based on the exact specifications of the vehicle. Thanks to a unique identifier, all service information, such as remove-and-replace procedure, diagnostic procedures, parts, or standard times, are available.

If a different view of the schematic is preferred, a specific section of the vehicle can also be rendered:

  • the complete system or a block diagram of the system
  • a single component within a system
  • a selection of components, based on a particular signal
  • based on the wiring harness
These features, which are integrated naturally into the workflow, present the required system information in the best possible way to diagnose the car correctly and efficiently.
