INCA-FLOW is a software solution designed to simplify the ECU calibration process through automation. It requires no programming skills. The tool provides calibration engineers with intuitive graphical modeling capabilities and extensive libraries to streamline calibration and testing tasks across various platforms. This includes vehicles, test benches, HiL systems, and co-simulation environments.

Features

INCA-FLOW supports and facilitates the development of software-defined vehicles (SDV) by enabling the optimization of complex calibration tasks without coding knowledge. INCA-FLOW is a software solution developed by IAV GmbH and is exclusively sold and supported by ETAS.

Today's engineers face rising ECU software complexity and diverse vehicle variants. Employing automation, optimization, and simulation enhances calibration efficiency and reduces reliance on test vehicles by shifting to test benches and virtual setups. INCA-FLOW supports you in standardizing calibration processes. It enables best practices through flexible, reproducible methods that reduce the need for test vehicles and testbenches, allow planning from the office, and save you valuable time.

INCA-FLOW add-ons

Toolboxes provide ad hoc built-in methods, allowing INCA-FLOW to be used in a wide range of environments, such as MiL/SiL systems, HiL systems, testbenches, or vehicles.

  • Supports the development and testing of control functions.
  • Allows the generation of stimuli for modeling and testing of control functions.
  • Offers an interactive graphical editor for designing characteristics and maps.

  • Ready-to-use blocks with polynomial, least squares, and simplex optimization algorithms
  • Generation of drive cycles
  • Generic PID controller
  • Included solver for equation systems and start/stop/pause governor optimization

  • Filtering and synchronization of MDF measurement data
  • Fast fourier transform (FFT)
  • Various blocks for measurement data visualization, for example histograms
  • Measurement data analysis including data cropping, calculation of mean values and standard deviations, synchronization of different measurements
  • Connection to the ETAS Analytics toolbox (EATB) for automated measurement data evaluation

  • Allows automation of calibration and test procedures using CAN and ASAP3.
  • The testbench connector includes the functions of CAN sending and receiving, as well as the infrastructure required to connect to the test bench.
  • The testbench connector connects to the test bench environment via CAN messages and provides the option to customize inbound and outbound CAN messages.
  • Engineering services are provided by ETAS at the customer’s request. Engineering services staff can also integrate additional measurement equipment.

  • Toolbox for detecting events in the transmission (for example upshifts and downshifts, starting, gliding, converter slip control, etc.) that affect driving behavior
  • Evaluation of events based on objective, physical criteria
  • Comprehensive visualization functions provide the basis for troubleshooting and detailed analysis of results

15 years of successful cooperation

IAV GmbH and ETAS GmbH agreed to start this cooperation project with a defined job split. The contract was signed on December 14, 2009, enabling both companies to concentrate on their core competencies: ETAS on bringing a product to the market, and IAV on developing a tool from calibration engineers for calibration engineers.

It was the start of a powerful and solid partnership, the longest of all partnerships at ETAS.
