The ETAS logging network suite at a glance
At the heart of the ETAS logging network suite you will find the manager, which is used to orchestrate the measurement network. This allows individual measurement paths to be distributed to the various data sources and sinks. You can also use the manager to configure all other components of the ETAS logging network suite.
On the software side, the recorders enable the recording of various Ethernet-based data sources, such as video streams, middleware data, XCP, and many more. Each data source is linked to a separate recorder service, which writes the incoming data on a high-performance SSD data memory. This results in high performance with write rates of more than 50 Gbps.
The recorders natively support various file formats such as ETAS GCF ("generic container format"), ASAM MDF, ASAM CMP, and PCAP. If required, the service can be expanded to integrate additional data sources and specific transfer protocols.
The interpreter accesses measurement data on SSD data storage devices and enables efficient online access to data during an ongoing measurement. The software graphically analyzes measurement data and makes it available in various representations.
The interpreter supports the file formats MDF4, Bytesoup, and ROS ("robot operating system") as a standard. Interfaces for converting any format are also available. The ROS2-based, open architecture guarantees easy integration into existing systems, ensuring a high level of compatibility and future-proofing.
The monitoring service monitors all components of the measurement network. This includes determining the health of the system and recording performance indicators. Metrics, logs, and traces are accessed in real time; the data is provided via standardized interfaces such as gNMI (gRPC network management interface).
