CBS10x – Smart Lambda Sensor Cable

Smart lambda sensor cables of the ETAS CBS10x product family and the Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband lambda sensor can help control combustion and oxidation processes – for example in heating systems, furnaces, and industrial systems.

Reducing pollutant emissions caused by the combustion of fossil fuels requires that the combustion process be controlled and optimized. Smart lambda sensor cables of the ETAS CBS10x product family and the Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband lambda sensor can help control combustion and oxidation processes – for example in heating systems, furnaces, and industrial systems.

As a Bosch subsidiary, ETAS has for many years been closely involved with the development of lambda sensors at Bosch. Over 20 years of experience in advancing lambda measuring technology for Bosch lambda sensors goes into ETAS’ CBS10x smart lambda cable for the industrial sector. It offers an intelligent and economic measurement technology solution for the Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband lambda sensor. CBS10x cables have successfully racked up more than 10,000 operating hours in various applications.

Together with the Bosch LSU 4.9 lambda sensor, the CBS10x smart lambda cable is very easy to integrate into existing industrial applications thanks to its open cable end and plug-and-play functionality. It can also be used without any special knowledge of lambda sensors. After more than 10,000 hours in continuous operation, the Bosch LSU 4.9 has proven itself to be a reliable and economical lambda sensor.

The CBS10x smart lambda sensor cable, together with the Bosch wideband lambda sensor, is available in three versions:

  • CBS100 with analog output voltage as a function of the oxygen content O2, the lambda value λ or the pump current Ip
  • CBS104 as an emulation of the LSM11 lambda sensor, with analog voltage output as a function of the oxygen content O2
  • CBS105 with output current as a function of the oxygen content O2, of the lambda value λ, or the pump current Ip

Using Bosch LSU 4.9 sensors

CBS10x lambda sensor cables apply signal processing methods that have a proven track record of many years in use with lambda controls in automotive engine ECUs. The cable electronics also feature integrated control of the LSU 4.9 sensor heater and the signal conditioning unit for the lambda sensor signals.CBS10x cables are equipped with an RB150 connector for direct connection to the LSU 4.9 sensors.

Replacing Bosch LSM 11 sensors

Bosch LSM 11 switching type sensors can be quickly and easily replaced with an LSU 4.9 wideband sensor in combination with a CBS104. The CBS104 cable emulates the output signal of the LSM 11 sensor in the narrow range between -20 mV and +80 mV. Consequently, the LSU 4.9 / CBS104 combination is electrically compatible with LSM 11 switching type sensors.Further information on supported hardware are available on the websites of Lambda modules.
